Status of Key Environmental Actions

The following lists the status (and year completed if applicable) of key environmental actions:

• Environmental Impact Statement for disposal and reuse of JPG (1995).
• Base Realignment and Closure Plan (1994, most recent update in 1997).
• 28 underground storage tanks removed (1995).
  Gate 19 Landfill capped, long term monitoring is ongoing (1995).
• Phase I RI completed, additional investigation required for 23 of 50 sites (1995).
• UXO surveys and removal actions (1996-2002).
• Phase II RI of 30 sites (23 with sampling and 7 from Phase I with no sampling).  No further action a 14 of the sites and interim removal actions at 14 sites (2002).
• Feasibility Study, Proposed Plan, and ROD for Cantonment Area sites were completed (2003-2004). Remedial actions were completed in early 2005.
• Ongoing environmental monitoring program for depleted uranium (1984 - present).  License amendment in progress.
