Depleted Uranium Impact Area
The U.S. Army released the License Termination Plan (2001) in July 2001 and an
update
An updated License Termination Plan (2002) was prepared along with an
Environmental Report in June 2002.
The Army withdrew its plans for decommissioning in 2003 and prepared an updated
Environmental Radiation Monitoring (ERM) Program Plan.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requested additional information on the ERM
Program Plan in May 2004 and the Army is preparing its responses. The NRC plans
to conduct an Environmental Assessment to support its decision on this plan.
The Army currently is responding to NRC's requests for details on its plans to support
license termination in the next 5 to 7 years.
