JPG - Current Reuse

Indiana Air National Guard - (ANG) will continue air-to-ground range use of over 1,000 acres.
Fish and Wildlife Service to manage natural resources.
Maintain some roads and mow grass.
Ensure perimeter security.
Continue hunting and fishing to maintain wildlife populations.
The Army site caretaker staff monitor and insure the maintenance of the perimeter security and compliance with the MOA between the Army, Fish and Wildlife Service and Air Force.

South of the Firing Line (Cantonment Area)

About 220 acres will be a County Park.
The Madison Railroad, a Division of City of Madison Port Authority is a 25-mile shortline operating from Madison to North Vernon, Indiana. The railroad acquired an enginehouse, 17 miles of trackage and a loading dock located on JPG. As a result of this acquisition, the railroad now offers transloading and car storage.
With the rail strategically located throughout the property and infrastructure currently in place, it is an ideal location for industrial development.

Approximately 3,400 acres were leased in furtherance of conveyance to Ford Lumber and Building Supply Company. The owner has leased buildings for residential (13 houses) and light industrial use (13 small business) and is farming about 800 acres. The Army transferred 1,207 acres to the Ford Lumber and Building Supply Company on June 7, 2001, and this area is known and described as the Central Cantonment area parcel.

Krueger Lake Park was transferred to Jefferson County in 1998
About 400 acres west of the Airfield, Ford Lumber and Building Supply Company has first right to purchase this land.
Approximately 200 people currently live and/or work on JPG on a daily basis.
