5 Year Renewable Possession Only License Amendment Request

In, 2003, the Army made a request to the NRC for an alternate schedule for submittal of a Decommissioning Plan for the termination of the JPG License SUB-1435.  The Army proposed that the license amendment be negotiated for a 5-year renewable possession only license for an indefinite period.  In September 2003, the Army proposed to revise the current sampling program.  The NRC plans to conduct public hearings on this request and conduct an environmental assessment of the impacts of the proposed changes to the license.
